Pelli isn't just for photographers: why a Camara group store uses it every day

Pelli isn't just for photographers (and a Camara store proves it)
When we launched Pelli, we had photographers in mind: elegant galleries, polished delivery, a premium client experience. But a good tool always ends up outgrowing its original box.
The best proof comes from Brest, France. We spoke with Nico Le Men, who runs Grenier Photo Brest and Grenier Photo Quimper, two stores of the Camara group. He told us why he switched to Pelli 👇
Camara, Grenier Photo… what are we talking about?
Camara is a well-known network of photo stores across France, a reference for gear, prints and film developing. Grenier Photo Brest and Grenier Photo Quimper are part of it, with Nico Le Men at the helm. Their job? Not taking photos — but developing and scanning other people's, starting with the film rolls customers bring in.
The problem: links that end up in spam
Before Pelli, Grenier Photo delivered its scans the way most people do: a folder, a WeTransfer or Smash link, an email. On paper, it works. In real life, much less so:
- links regularly landed in customers' spam folders;
- the front desk was flooded with calls: “I was supposed to get a link, I never received anything…”;
- a real GDPR concern: these American tools store your clients’ data outside Europe, with no real guarantee over how it’s handled;
- and every time, the same routine: check, resend, reassure.
« Very often we'd get calls at the front desk: “I was supposed to receive the link, I didn't get it.” And very often, it was sitting in spam. » — Nico Le Men, Grenier Photo (Camara group)
Multiply that by a store's volume and it adds up to a huge amount of wasted time. Plus a few disputes along the way.
The trigger: trying Pelli “almost by chance”
Nico tried Pelli almost out of curiosity, with a very simple thought: even without taking photos, they too deliver images. So why keep fighting with fragile links when a gallery does the job cleanly?
How they use Pelli today
It has become a reflex, right at the counter:
- They create a Pelli gallery for the customer.
- The account is opened right in front of them — they leave knowing exactly what to expect.
- They receive their confirmation email: everyone knows it arrived.
- As soon as the scan is ready, it appears directly in their gallery.
No link to chase, no file that vanishes. The customer has their own space — clean and reassuring — where their images are waiting. ✨
The result: a team that can finally breathe
The most visible change isn't on the customer side — it's on the team's side.
« We've saved a huge amount of time at the front desk, no longer answering “where did my transfer go?”. It limits problems and disputes. Pelli is truly a solution I recommend — we're really happy with it. » — Nico Le Men
Fewer calls, fewer disputes, more time for the real work. That's exactly what we want to offer.
Photographer, lab or store… if you deliver images, Pelli is for you
Grenier Photo's story says something important: it doesn't matter whether you shoot yourself or not. The moment you deliver images to clients, you face the same challenges — that they arrive, that they look good, that it's simple, and that it strengthens your image instead of weakening it. Photo stores, labs, scanning studios, videographers… Pelli doesn't fit in a single box. It's the tool for anyone who wants to deliver images like a pro.
